EARLY LIFE
I was born in a small seaside town in Abruzzo, Italy, and began studying dance just two months before my third birthday. From that moment, dance became my first and most important passion, guiding my daily life.
I attended several dance schools over my first 18 years, eventually graduating from the bilingual (English and Spanish) Liceo Scientífico M. Curie of Giulianova in 2014. Two months later, I moved to Rome, where I lived for nine years.
LIFE IN ROME
In Rome, I had the opportunity to study under many renowned choreographers. Initially, I pursued language studies for a year, but I ultimately decided to follow my dream of becoming a dancer.
In 2018 I earned a diploma in contemporary dance from a prestigious international academy at Vivo Ballet directed by E. Celli at Teatro Greco, where I studied on a scholarship.
Between 2016 and 2019, I completed three teaching courses, earning diplomas in contemporary, modern, and beginner dance instruction. This marked the beginning of my career as a dance teacher. I also led training programs for choreographers and movement coaches, working in central and northern Italy tourist destinations.
In 2018, I enrolled in the Performing Arts faculty while dancing for a small contemporary dance company and working as a freelance dancer for music videos and TV shows. I graduated from Sapienza Università di Roma in July 2020 during the pandemic, having defended my thesis remotely due to Italy’s strict lockdown.
In November 2020 I began a Master’s program at Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
Two years later I traveled to the UK, specifically Bradford, to complete my dissertation. While there, I had the opportunity to work at the First UNESCO City of Film Office and study the Widescreen Festival 2022, which focused on the Cinerama format.
In November 2022, I finished my Master’s in Film, Television, and Media Production and graduated with honors from Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
LIFE IN SPAIN AND INJURY
During my Bachelor’s degree, between 2018 and 2019, I spent several months in Spain, dividing my time between Madrid and Seville.
My goal was to improve my language skills and study various dance styles, particularly Flamenco. I fell completely in love with the culture.
Unfortunately, after returning from Madrid, I suffered a severe injury that forced me to stop dancing and rest for a year. Just as I was beginning to recover, the pandemic hit, leading me to stop dancing and focus more on my studies and creative pursuits.
LIFE AFTER GRADUATION
In March 2023, just three and a half months after completing my studies in Rome, I decided to move to the Netherlands. Here, I am finally able to work as a freelance in the fields I love — festival productions and small theatre projects.
I could never see myself doing the same job every day, knowing exactly how my life would unfold – I thrive in creative environments, enjoy solving problems during live events, and embrace a dynamic lifestyle.
I love teaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and experiences. Teaching makes me feel alive, and it’s a mutual exchange since I always learn something from my students. It’s not just about dance steps and technique; it’s about love, caring for our bodies, and connecting with others.
Sometimes we walk into a dance class and feel afraid – I’ve experienced that many times. But dance should never be something to fear. Dance has the power to save us; it’s a way to escape from routines and improve the quality of our lives overall. The dance studio should be a place where we share joy, passion, and freedom.
A dance class is about sharing and feeling – you are never the same after experiencing one. I strive for everyone to feel welcome to join my sessions because, for me, dance is for everyone.
What truly makes me feel alive, however, is creativity. That’s why my primary passion is to bring my ideas to life along with curating performances born from other people’s stories. I’ve always loved painting, drawing, and writing. Creating choreographies and performances makes me feel like crafting stories through a living artwork, using different spaces as canvas.
